Tips for the guide
Lower Antelope Canyon
Explore the naturally-made, colorful labyrinthine pathways of one of the most popular slot canyons in the world: the Lower Antelope Canyon. Follow a local Navajo guide on a walking tour of this canyon, learning about these curious rock formations and the history of the land. Head straight into the twisting passageways of the canyon, marveling at its brilliant windswept patterns, its colorful towering walls, and winding corridors. Feel the grandeur and the tranquility of your naturally-made surroundings as your local Navajo guide goes into detail about these formations. Walk back up eight different staircases, trying not to let your jaw drop too low as you see a kaleidoscope of bright colors swirl around you on the surrounding Navajo sandstone. Created by rain, wind, and erosion this sandstone has been shaped and colored into what you now see over years. Stop to snap incredible photos along your route.

Great place to visit! Lots to see and do and a good hotel (we stayed at the Comfort Inn). We only had 24 hours so it wasn’t long but we were able to pack in a trip to Horseshoe Bend first. It’s a very well laid out trail and a fabulous site. If you want the best sunlight on the river itself, head out closer to midday. November is a good time to be there as it’s brutal in the summer heat. A fifteen minute hike to the viewpoint. We drove to Glen Canton Dam to walk the bridge. Unfortunately the viewing site and park HQ was closed due to the government shutdown. How embarrassing is that as a phenomenon! But we also hiked on the opposite bank towards Lake Powell. Great scenery and well worth the time! Page has a lot to offer! Go Visit!

Great tour guide. Tylen was an excellent, informative, funny guide. We learned about the Navajo culture and the general area around Page. His jokes about music stars were entertaining. The weather was perfect and it wasn't so crowded. When we did the upper there were so many people the dust was nauseating. Our pictures turned out wonderfully on this trip versus the upper where it was so hazy.

Antelope Canyon was truly an amazing experience! I was initially surprised to find that it wasn't inside a mountain, but rather a spectacular slot canyon underground. The way the sunlight streamed down into the depths made the whole scene utterly breathtaking and spectacular.

Amazing experience. We have been wanting to do this for some time. Tour guide was excellent. It was busy so not much lingering inside the canyon. Plan to bring water, sunglasses, phone/camera, hat. No bags of any type allowed.

Absolutely incredible! As enchanting as the photos. Our guide Lamar was patient and he was knowledgeable with phone cameras too. He help us all get quality photos. It was busy but everyone was polite. My daughter and I are afraid of heights and the entry steps were steep but manageable. After that all other steps were much shorter. Every passage was gorgeous and we learned some interesting history as well.

We had an excellent tour! We chose to take the lower canyon and were very pleased. We were able to get some beautiful photos. Our guide, Ben, was so helpful and answered any cultural questions that I asked about the Hopi tribe. This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas.
