What To Expect
Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show
Check in at Fort Hays Headquarters between 7:30-7:45am where you get your paper tickets for your breakfast, bus assignment and your assigned seats for the Chuckwagon Supper and Show. Then go get your all you can eat cowboy breakfast. Nothing better than home made cowboy pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage links with a hot cup of coffee to get the day started.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
The bus departs at 9am and heads for Mount Rushmore! You will have a little over an hour to look around at your own convenience and enjoy the sites and beauty that you came to South Dakota for. We stop here first because Mount Rushmore is at it's best in the morning sun. Gutzon Borglum carved this mountain facing east towards the morning sun and intended it to be viewed this way.

Scenery, Mt Rushmore and Crazyhorse were wonderful. We did not care for the Tour Guide/Driver.

3.00Best part of the experiance was the time my wife and I had away from the bus during stops on the trip, and the scenery we were able to take in. The tour guide/bus driver's jokes were more annoying than funny and became old after the first 20 minutes. We did not stay for dinner as by the time we returned we were just done with all of the bad jokes and wanted to leave. Maybe a different driver/guide would have made the day better. We were there to learn and see, not experiance a failed attempt at comedy.

5.00We enjoyed the whole experience, from the breakfast, bus tour, dinner and show. Our tour guide was awesome. We learned a lot from him. It was nice not to have to drive, we were able to just relax and sightsee. Everything went smoothly and had plenty of time at the stops.

5.00Walking from the bus it doesn’t seem as of this incredible sculptured mountain is real. It is truly awesome! The tour guide took us up close to the base of the mountain but I’d recommend taking the van to the top of the mountain.
