Join us for a HIGH QUALITY, small group snorkel aboard the all new REEF EXPLORER, Maui's only luxury SUPER RAFT and snorkel the world famous Molokini Crater. Enjoy a full hour of snorkeling in this partially submerged volcanic crater, and view over 250 different species of reef fish and coral formations.
REEF EXPLORER is a state of the art, 60 ft Super Raft, which arrives to Molokini Crater in less than 30 minutes. This allows guests more time to snorkel in a private setting, away from crowds.
Our second snorkel stop is at our favorite "Turtle Cove", where we swim and observe the abundant population of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles that make this cove home.
Tour includes breakfast pastries, Maui Gold Pineapple, freshly made lunch sandwiches, chips, granola bars, bottled water, sparkling water, Aloha juice, soft drinks, all snorkel gear and flotation devices. Our friendly captains and crew members make this the most personalized, memorable snorkel trip in Maui!

The boat cannot be held for late passengers, so please be on time and check in at 7:30 a.m.
No large backpacks or luggage allowed on board

What To Expect
Snorkel the world famous Molokini Crater aboard Reef Explorer - Maui’s newest custom built Super Raft. This ultra smooth ride arrives to Molokini Crater in record speed, staying away from crowds while gliding effortlessly above the water! Once in Molokini, snorkel with over 250 species of reef fish and coral inside this partially submerged volcanic crater, and enjoy a leisurely lunch. From there, our friendly and knowledgeable guides will take you to a secluded turtle cove, where you will swim with graceful Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. Our favorite turtle cove is not accessible to large tour boats, which allows a completely private experience where we often see up to one dozen turtles at a time! All snorkel gear, lunch, snacks and flotation provided - All you have to do is hop onboard and have fun!

5.00This snorkeling excursion is great. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable, and the boat ride was very smooth. There is paid parking at the harbor - make sure to use the app specific to the lot you’re parked in (there are two different companies, as we learned the hard way…!) We recommend this trip without hesitation!

5.00Such a fun experience! They made sure to take us to the calmest area for the best snorkeling. Super friendly and they even found an octopus for us and let us hold it before letting it go. Saw turtles and all kinds of fish. Loved it!

4.00It seems like operators should reclassify this trip as snorkeling and turtle/whale watching. I read other reviews prior to going and knew from the reviews we might not snorkel at molokini. The water was way too choppy to snorkel there so after sight seeing molikini we left and went to ulualu instead. Ulualu was great but I could drive myself there so not the snorkel experience I was hoping for. We stopped at turtle cove for a few minutes and saw a few turtles and since it was spring break (late March) we could still do some whale watching which was cool. The pluses for us, Esteban was a great captain, Jenn was amazing and shared so much great knowledge. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and they were very safety conscious. I asked for a gluten free meal and they were able to accommodate that. We didn’t want a large boat with over 50++ people. This boat capped around 45 swimmers which was more reasonable for our needs. We were a little worried about getting sea sick but despite the chop it was a smoother ride than anticipated for a smaller boat. I credit Esteban for that! I only wish tour operators are more up front about what to expect on this tour and the back up locations if molokini isn’t an option. I’d also like to snorkel in more than one location and I would be curious to know how often they actually do snorkel at molokini. Maybe it isn’t swimmable in the winter/spring. Again, not the tours fault but should be noted up front.

4.00Very enjoyable tour overall—just don’t go in expecting incredible snorkeling. We were lucky to see four whales since it was whale season, which was definitely a highlight. The experience felt very local and laid-back, which we liked. The only downside was that we spent about an hour and a half driving around in the middle of the ocean without really knowing where we were headed, which felt a bit strange.
Molokini snorkeling in rough seas is not feasible

4.00Due to too rough water conditions we were unfortunately not able to snorkel at Molokini Crater. But the crew offered an alternative program. I give 4 stars for this, because the change unfortunately does not compensate for the lost experience, but the crew can't help the weather conditions.

5.00The tour operators were very accommodating and kind. They put our safety first and did their best to make sure that we had a great experience despite the waves in the creator that were rough. They took us to several locations, saw a couple of whales, and snorkeled over a large reef so that was really awesome!
