• A nice self guide half day out in Zurich

  This is a self guided tour offering a bundle of tickets you could buy for less solo. If you value time the surcharge isn’t bad. I skipped the boat ride to the museum/factory taking the tram/bus both ways. From the dock area get on bus 165 and get off at Lindt-Sprungli stop. Same in reverse to go back into the city. Breezed right in to the museum with the enter anytime ticket. The audio guide is essential to understanding what is going on. Plenty of tasting and sample opps and the smell is heavenly. At the end of the your a line backs up waiting to watch a Rube Goldberg like device spit outs out another free sample. Thankfully staff came to hand out the free samples to skip the wait. The shop at end of tour has every product they make-more than you’ll find in grocery stores here. I used CityMapper app to find the right team to the dock area. On the return i stopped at the main train station. HauptBanhof where the grocery stores are open on Sunday to do some shopping. Then hopped back on a tram for 2 stops to get to my hotel. Swiss public transportation is a real jewel-everyone should experience its clean, efficient and affordable rides that go everywhere around the city.

  Great communication from the Viator team. The trip was amazing, we totally enjoyed the cruise along the lake to the museum which was very informative and lively to be able to try lots of chocolate. We were lucky as it wasn't to busy.

  The walk is very beautiful and very worth it. What was not well explained is that the transport ticket included in the tour is valid for 24 hours. This means that you can take any public transportation to get to the boarding pier or directly to the Lindt factory, and also return by any public transportation, be it by boat, bus, tram or tram and continue using public transportation until the end of the 24 hours, within the specified areas (the entire Zurich and the Lindt area).

  The details surrounding the boat departure are incorrect. The first boat leaves at 11am as stated however subsequent boats do not run hourly as stated; the next available boat is 12:30 and the journey for this trip to Lindt is 30 mins as opposed to 90 mins. You might also like to know that this vessel currently leaves from Pier 3A as there is no information supplied to state that or the fact that is basically water bus. Additionally, this trip is very overpriced. We found on the day that the 24 hour transportation ticket was less than £14 and the entry which was available as a walk-up (regardless of what the website states) was less than £16, making the whole experience less than £30pp which is nothing like the £65pp being charged here. Personally I would recommend booking your Lindt ticket directly then booking your 24hr Zurich transport ticket directly also (either from the hotel you are staying at or at any ticket office/machine. This will cut your expense down in half and your experience will be no difference whatsoever. It's a nice trip ... around 3 hours in total including transportation if you take the 30 min boat trip or 4 hours if you take the 90 min boat trip.

  The lake boat trip on a public boat and visit to the Lindt museum was great and well worth doing However You were basically left on your own Just the tickets purchased You could organise the tickets yourself and not spend as much

  This would’ve been great except for the way tickets were accessed. All of my tours had access to tickets through the Viator app. The tickets for Lindt were sent in a separate message. The QR codes for the boat ride were only accessible when hitting the Contact Tour Operator button, which wasn’t mentioned in the voucher. If you don’t have WiFi, you cannot access them or contact the tour operator. Therefore, I had to purchase the boat ride tickets for my party of 6 at a cost of $104. The Lindt tour was wonderful. I contacted Viator for reimbursement for the boat ride and was declined. I have never had a problem with Viator until this tour and the way it was ticketed.

  While the tour of Lindt Chocolate was amazing and well worth it, the ferry portion was extremely disappointing. The starting point for the ferry ride was quite confusing as it didn’t include any signage. We waited over an hour for the ferry, and when it finally came the ferry driver stated they weren’t letting on any new passengers, we have to wait another 30 minutes. To ensure we didn’t miss our train home, we ended up ordering an Uber to Lindt.
