Swimming with magical giants as they dance and float right in front of your eyes is a truly magical Kona experience!
Our night manta ray snorkel tours begin departing at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. and last about an hour.
Important note:
-Participants must be experienced swimmers and in good health in order to participate.
-Must have basic snorkeling experience.
-Weight Policy: Anyone 260 and over (not to exceed 320) is required to purchase an additional seat.

All participants must be experienced swimmers and have snorkel experience. Children must be 5 and over to board the boat. Due to the type of boat we operate (RHIB) we are unable to allow service animals on board.

What To Expect
If there are no sightings, we do not offer refunds, but we do offer a FREE RERIDE. *If you are purchasing a "NOT SNORKELING" ticket, please be advised that there is no guarantee of seeing manta rays from the boat. With check-in time, boat travel, and water time: Total time is around 1.2 hours. (25-30 of that is water time). We operate a smaller boat; a 23 foot RHIB (Zodiac style) boat and take 11 passengers. Tour duration from departure to return is about 50 minutes in length, which includes 25-30 minutes of water time. Important note: -Participants must be experienced swimmers and in good health in order to participate. -Must have basic snorkeling experience. -Casual Use Life Jackets are not provided unless 13 years of age and under. -Weight Policy: Anyone 260 and over (not to exceed 320) is required to purchase an additional seat. -Wetsuits are optional and available to rent at check-in. -Please do not bring valuables as we do not have an office and you will need to keep your belongings in your own vehicle. -Tour times are subject to change. -Ocean conditions can change without notice; choppy ocean conditions may occur.

5.00Our nighttime manta ray snorkel was such a unique and unforgettable experience. I’ll admit, it felt a little spooky at first—floating in the dark ocean and imagining these giant, graceful creatures swimming so close and even brushing past you. But once you’re actually in the water, it becomes incredibly peaceful and serene. Watching the manta rays glide effortlessly beneath you is truly mesmerizing. Nick and his team were absolutely amazing. The boat staff—Koa, Nick, and Max—were all so informative, professional, and accommodating from start to finish. They made sure everyone felt safe and prepared, which really helped ease those initial nerves. My kids ended up getting a little freaked out and chose to stay on the boat, but the crew went above and beyond to make sure they still had a great experience. They were so attentive and thoughtful, checking in on them and keeping them engaged while we were in the water. And did their best to ensure they were able to experience the mantarays, even from the boat. Overall, this was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend—especially with such a caring and capable team guiding the way.

4.00My husband and I attended the 6:30 pm launch on March 31st. The sun had just set and we were on our way to the snorkel site, just a 5 minute ride to the point. Our crew was friendly, informative and professional in preparing us for the experience. Upon reaching the point, there were at least 5-6 other boats with at least 10-20 other snorkelers each. Unfortunately, on that night we were only able to see one manta ray "fly by" about 15 feet below us. It swam by a few times and was beautiful to see, but I guess we expected more. I don't blame the snorkel company who took us out for the trip. It's nature, you never know what you're going to get in the wild. I guess on that night, at that time of day, maybe the manta rays weren't that hungry. We will try this adventure again in the future in hopes our experience is better. Overall, My Kona Adventures did a great job providing equipment needed and preparing us for the experience. I would recommend their company.

5.00Insanely AWESOME! Nick, Koa, Taco, and Max were excellent; they took care of us. And the stars of the night were the majestic mantas. We were greeted with 11 manta rays within the 25-ish minutes we were in the water. One of the best experiences ever! Can't recommend this and MKA highly enough. Do it!

5.00The actual activity was breath taking !!! Taco did an amazing job getting all 11 of us to the perfect location! We saw 6 if not 7 ManiRay 🥳 The Rays were all so playful while they danced in the water right up to us! I was touched like 6 times! Tears of Joy !!! 🥰🥳🎉🙏 Koa did a good job getting the boat to the location , holding it steady while we got off and on and safely back to dock … All in the Dark !! Max was there to save us if trouble arised and thank goodness NO trouble only FUN!! The hostess at the beginning had a sharp tongue and rudeness … would look at a kinder and friendlier approach with welcoming guests. All in All OUTSTANDING Adventure 🎉🥳🎉

5.00This was one of the most amazing excursions I've been on in my life. We had wonderful, calm waters, and about 7 rays dancing below us in the majestic blue off the harbor. Our guide, Taco, was super knowledgeable about the rays and could identify the ones based on their "fingerprint", much like whales and orcas we encounter back home. We even got to see a baby manta ray! Our captain and crewmate were also resourceful and kept us safe the duration of the trek. It was incredible. The rays came right up to us and it was, by far, such a surreal feeling. We highly recommend!
