This was an amazing experience. We had a knowledgeable and entertaining guide - K-man. He was friendly, kind and patient with our group of mixed kayaking and hiking experience. It was a perfect day on the water, hiking through the river and splashing into the waterfall pool!

While the kayaking was a little longer than I expected, it was all worth the destination- the falls. Our guide was funny and friendly and knew a lot of details that were insightful through the journey.

The team at Wailua Kayak & Canoe is great! Daniel was our guide and he made this trip incredibly memorable. Booking was convenient. Directions were good and parking was easy and plentiful. Transportation to the harbor was provided. The equipment was in good condition and they even had dry bags and coolers to borrow if needed. The park entry fee was an additional $5 pp and there was a restroom & water fountain available prior to getting on the water. There is a morning session (7:15 am) or an afternoon session (12:30 pm). We were in the morning session. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 teens. After going over safety instructions and a lesson on paddling and steering with our partner for our 2 person kayaks, Daniel made sure we knew the route and we proceeded down the gorgeous Wailua River. Along the way he taught us a bit about Hawaii culture and Kauai history. Daniel was a wealth of knowledge on the hike - telling us about the local flora & fauna, as well as the animals (we met some bird "friends" that literally came when he called!) on the island. It was beautiful and muddy hike up the stunning waterfall where we got to take a break, play in the water and get pictures (there were PLENTY of natural photo opps). Even the hike & kayak back was enjoyable and we enjoyed every minute of the adventure! If you only do one excursion on the island, don't hesitate to book this one and ask for Daniel - you won't be disappointed!

Really fun and a decent challenge with kayaking. I would bring a rain jacket bc it always sprinkles a little in Kauai.

The trip was as described and more! Was able to be immersed in the beauty of the jungle and appreciate the flora and fauna. Loved having to kayak to reach our beautiful destination! Kayaking to the Secret Falls was an amazing adventure. Being in the water and absorbing the sights, sounds, and smells was a wonderful experience.

Kahmyn was a fantastic guide, he is very knowledgeable about the trip but also about the island. The river is great, the hike is cool, the falls is extremely cool. You get wet but it is refreshing. You can go in the water at the falls.

This was a tourist trap. SO many people everywhere! Part of it was fun and it was beautiful but we felt unsafe on the way back when our group including our guide were nowhere in sight kayaking back. We got caught on the river when wind came and couldn’t get ourselves out of it. Our guide said stay to the right earlier in the trip which is what we were trying to do but apparently on the way back he should have said stay to the left on the river. A simple group meeting giving a few important rules and tips to follow on the way back would have helped a lot. If you are not fit, do not do this activity.

The entire experience was great! Our guide was fun to talk to, funny, and all around a great guy for the trip. It was relaxing, but had a little difficulty on the way back paddling into the wind. It is definitely a busy area so keep that in mind. It proved to be a great thing to do and I would absolutely do it again.
