Experience the thrill of a lifetime with our doors-off helicopter tour over breathtaking Kauai. On this exhilarating adventure, you will feel the wind in your hair and get unobstructed views from our specially designed helicopter with the doors removed and pilot controls on the left hand side.
Our knowledgeable and skilled pilots guide you through the island’s iconic landmarks, sharing insightful commentary along the way.
Safety is our top priority, and our doors-off helicopter tours adhere to the highest industry standards.
We fly a FULL 60-65 minute tour. You don’t want to settle for any less than 60 minutes, as this allows our pilots to take their time at each viewpoint and rotate the helicopter so all passengers have a great view regardless of seating arrangements.
We fly a MD500E aircraft, one of the safest and best helicopter makes in the world. Please know we fly a full tour with all seats sold. Maximum of 4 passengers per helicopter. Weight restrictions apply.

What To Expect
Lihue
After checking in at our office and verifying weights you will be given a thorough safety briefing. You will then be transported to our hangar where you will board the aircraft and meet your pilot.
After taking off, your first scenic landmarks will be the Nawiliwili Harbor and historic Menehune Fishpond. This is a great time to test out the two way communication and chat with your pilot and introduce yourself.

1.00All the set-up was great. Location easy to find, check-in smooth, bus ride to airport good, friendly staff. They supply a wrist strap for your phone which worked very well (wish they had told us that before we purchased our own devices that btw they wouldn't let us use). However, you get assigned a seat based on some weight process. I weigh 140# and was assigned behind the female pilot which to weigh about same as I did. Though 2 heavier men on the trip were both on outside? So not sure how the weight was balanced. Be warned, if you are behind the pilot (which is out of your control) you will see darn little compared to other passengers. All the sights are pointed out to 3 other passengers and you will not see them as there is a big wall to your front right where the sites are. The flight is clockwise around island so you will NOT get to see up into Waimea canyon and on the napali coast your main view will be the water. The pilot only circled once the entire trip so that I could see one of the waterfalls she had pointed out. Also be forewarned that you can take nothing, including a ball cap. My hair quickly escaped my pony tail and was painful hitting my face entire flight.

5.00I'm 82, a lifetime experience. Never thought I'd take a helicopter over Kauai. Chrissy our pilot was informative and fun! knew what she was doing! Kauai is a breath taking island, seeing it from the air was incredible!

5.00Jack Harter Helicoptor Tours does it best. They hire top notch pilots who get you in comfortably close for amazing views of the stunning scenery. Our initial flight was postponed due to weather and they are very flexible with rescheduling. Be sure to book your flight on the first day of your travel to the island to allow for potential weather delays. Our pilot was a great guy, Preston and you could tell he loved what he was doing. He was so wonderful to my wife who was a little hesitant about the doors off tour and he made her feel comfortable. Within minutes into the flight, my wife was in tears, but not from fear, but from the amazing view and splendor of God's Creation that was laid out in front of her. Those tears were not hers alone as the rest of us felt the same way. A bonus with doors off is the effect on your senses, the feel of the wind and the smells of the forests and waterfalls below and the salt air as you go out over the ocean for panoramic views.
