Tatsumi Yagura, also known as Sakurada Nijū Yagura, is a historic two-story watchtower located in the Imperial Palace grounds in Tokyo. Built during the Edo period, it is one of the few surviving structures of the original Edo Castle, reflecting Japan’s feudal past. Positioned at the southeast corner of the old inner moat, it once served both symbolic and defensive roles. Though the interior is closed to the public, the tower can be viewed from nearby paths in the Imperial Palace East Gardens—a favorite for photographers and history lovers exploring Tokyo sightseeing spots.
Two-tiered Bridge (Ni-ju Bashi)
One of the most iconic views of the Imperial Palace, the double-arched Nijūbashi Bridge gracefully spans the moat and serves as the main approach to the inner grounds. Beloved for its elegant stone structure and photogenic scenery, it is a must-see highlight for visitors exploring central Tokyo.

We had our long-planned tour today with local guide Ken from Tokyo. Was a very pleasant tour despite language barriers. Ken went to great lengths and a great advantage, we started already at 9.00 am. Can I only recommend seeing the sights as early as possible, as more and more tourists came. Thanks again from this side to Ken.

My family and I had a wonderful time and learned so much! Taku and Ken were so knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Imperial Palace, we all felt that we got so much more out of our visit than we would have just exploring on our own. Their insights were unmatched!

We had a great tour with Taku, and learned a lot of interesting history. My son uses a wheelchair and we were able to take a route with the wheelchair that worked well.
