Itinerary:

1. Auckland - Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.

2. Waikato - Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and several farm animals along the way.

3. Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.

4. Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!

Cancellation Policy

Terms: Tours will only run if at least 5 people have booked on the tour, we reserves the right to alter the tour due to weather or operational needs.

A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 10 days prior to the scheduled departure time.

It's a good tour but the title "Small Group Tour" is a bit misleading. Sure, you will be driven to Hobbitton in a small group, but there you will join a big group tour... Hobbitton itself is great!

Just the best day, made so much easier by Cheeky Kiwi and Cam. As soon as I knew I was coming to New Zealand, Hobbiton was top of my list - I was so excited to get to see and experience it all - and to see all the beautiful rolling hills and NZ landscapes along the way. Cam made it so easy, all I had to do was show up. Having the water and wifi on the bus, and getting to hear local stories for a local person, just enhanced the experience. Very glad I booked through you and will definitely do it again.

Very entertaining and entertaining tour. Despite drizzle very nice. Umbrellas were provided. Very nice finish with the "best" ice cream provider in New Zealand.

Had a fantastic tour driver Dave of Cheeky Kiwi tours. He drove the bus expertly in very wet driving conditions and gave up great information about areas we passed through on the way. Hobbiton was a great experience with very friendly tour guides and bus drivers. Beautiful farm and scenery.
