Begin a captivating journey south, covering approximately 100 kilometres to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the Dinh and Le dynasties dating back to the 11th century. Despite erosion over the millennia, the dilapidated ruins have become almost one with the spectacular scenery, creating a mystical atmosphere that is sure to stimulate your imagination. Following lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to nearby Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its exceptional natural beauty and picturesque karst formations, earning it the moniker "Halong Bay on land." Board a small boat and leisurely meander down the serene river, passing through a series of caves. As you enjoy the melodies of soaring birds overhead and paddle along the crystal-clear waters of the river, the sight of jagged limestone hills rising dramatically from vibrant green rice paddies will undoubtedly awaken the photographer in you. Conclude the excursion by returning to the pier, where your waiting vehicle will transport you back to Hanoi, arriving in the late afternoon.
