This is an 8 kilometer E-biking ride that visits famous attractions as well as hidden gems in Kyoto such as the Kinkakuji, Daitokuji Temple Complex in order to visit the Koto-in and Zuiho-in, Imamiyajinja and the Kitanotenmangu Temple.

No-shows or missed bookings for any reason are nonrefundable/non amendable/non transferable
Must arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time. We depart at 8:30, 9, 12:30, 1pm. If you are late and miss the tour you will not be refunded.
Guests who choose not to participate/cannot ride a bicycle will not get refunded
Tours cannot be changed to different departure times less than 24 hours before departure.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
What To Expect
We will park our bikes and walk through one of the most photographed temples in Japan, The Golden Pavilion. This is a must-see UNESCO attraction. We will view Kyoto's iconic golden temple that sits on a picturesque pond and mountain backdrop, and chat a bit about Zen garden design.

5.00If you're in Kyoto, you absolutely must book this e-bike tour! Michael was an incredible guide, so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the city's history. He shared so many useful tips that we used for the rest of our trip and was deeply respectful of the local culture, which we really appreciated. To ask for his fried chicken and okonomiyaki recommendations we tried both after our tour and they were epic. Highly recommend this tour and Michael!

5.00We had an amazing time on the Kyoto bike tour with Michael. It was a fantastic experience that we truly enjoyed and learned a lot from. Thanks to his background as a teacher, Michael explains everything in a very clear and engaging way. He doesn’t just share historical facts, but also adds plenty of fun facts that make the tour even more interesting. You can really tell that he loves sharing his knowledge, and that passion comes through throughout the entire experience. He is also incredibly attentive and thoughtful, he even prepares water for you and takes care of every detail so you can simply relax and enjoy the ride. Highly recommended! BTW, thanks for the hand warming tip ;)

5.00This e-bike tour on Hidden Kyoto is excellent. I did it a year ago when travelling with a friend, and then brought my family back with me to Kyoto to do it! We were a family group of 12, and Michael gave us a great insight into Kyoto and Japan. His tour was filled with relatable information, stories and insights.

5.00Wonderful tour! I spent 5 nights in Kyoto and took this tour on day four. I visited many temples, shrines, and sites in the days before, yet this tour visited places I had not yet been, and the e-bikes (pedal assist) made it possible to cover more ground in the half day tour. Our guide was terrific, providing both historical and social context. I highly recommend!

5.00This was possibly the best experience we had in Japan and wish we had done it sooner in our trip. It was less biking than I thought, but not in a bad way. Our guide, Michael, was insanely knowledgable and entertaining, and shared an incredible amount of information with us as we stopped at several amazing places in Kyoto. That said, you should not book this unless you know how to ride a bike and I do not think it would be good for small teens. Our fam of 4 (kids 15 and 21) LOVED it. Def ask for Michael as your guide.
