Sannai-Maruyama Site

Sannai Maruyama site is one of 17 archeological sites listed on the World Heritage site as Jomon historic sites in Northern Japan. You can see reconstructed pit buildings, a gigantic tower and a lot of artifacts. Feel Jomon culture which was thousands of years ago.

Aomori Museum of Art

Aomori museum art stores various arts created by local modern artist Nara Yoshitomo, world famous wood block print artist Shiko Munakata, and so on. The highlight of the museum is the backdrops for the ballet Aleko (Chagall).

This was an excellent experience that exceeded our expectations. Guide Tomio is terrific!!! We visited the Jomon site at Sannai Maruyama, the museum at the site, the Art Museum, the fish market and the Nebula museum. Tomio was very knowledgeable being local born and raised, spoke excellent English and was a clear, concise communicator. The price was right and, for curious travellers like us, this day was as good as it gets.
