The vision and determination of the current owners to restore this amazing but dilapidated mansion to its former glory is inspiring! Alexis was a knowledgeable and informative guide!

Definitely need to make a reservation beforehand as the tours get busy. Well worth a visit. The tour leader was very informative. It is now also a hotel.

The mansion and the story was cool. You can soak in the vibe of a colonial Chinese-Western style mansion of an overseas Chinese billionaire. Though the South Asian guy at the reception seemed a little racist, and the bottle water in the room caused some trouble to my stomach.

This review is for the security guard at the car park entrance. I joined the guided tour in the Saturday afternoon and learnt from your tour guide that there was chinese music performance at the courtyard in the evening and we can return later to join the happy hour. However, I was not allowed to enter The Mansion again around 6.30 pm on the same day. The security simply replied that everything was closed inside without checking and confirmation. I did not expect such unprofessional behaviour at The Mansion. And no communication amongst the office, restaurant outlets and the security. I stayed outside for a while to see what i could further do. Eventually, a helpful staff from the restaurant outlet approached me to ask for the details and let me in after checking my receipt of the tour ticket. Much appreciated that he took a further step to understand the needs of visitor. Still, I was quite disappointed with what i encountered that day. And not likely to recommend this place for family and friends to avoid such unpleasant experience.

We are lucky enough to stay at this beautiful house, and just toured around the house with Sally! What she didn’t know about the house was not worth asking g for, and you can tell she is passionately attached to the house and its history! Thank you Sally you have made this experience so worthwhile! A must to visit even if you do not stay here!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to George Town. Sally is a beautiful storyteller, she brings the property to life and transports you to a different time. I cannot recommend this experience enough.
