The Great Barrier Reef is the largest & most diverse eco system in the world. It is the world’s largest Marine Reserve, about half the size of Texas. The Reef is visible from outer space appearing as a thin white line along the Queensland coast. Within the Reserve are more than 10% of the world's species of marine fish, over four thousand species of hard & soft corals and six of the world’s seven species of turtles. Giant Humpback Whales migrate to its warm crystal clear waterways every year to give birth to their babies

John & Lynne Boyce are your key to discovering Australia’s most treasured water wonderland. In recognition of Lynne's expertise The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has granted her the title : Master Reef Guide She has published “Gourmet Sailing..Delicious Dining on the Great Barrier Reef”, a cook book detailing the meals they serve. We enjoyed a week long cruise with 2 other couples to celebrate a birthday. Everything was sensational. John Boyce is a skipper with 30 years experience sailing the reef and it showed. His knowledge of the best places to go, according to conditions and his handling of the boat were masterful. His partner Lynne is a Master Reef Guide and the only guide licensed to conduct reef walks at low tide. Her knowldge of the reef; the animals, the shells and the best places to snorkel was second to none. She accompanied us on all our snorkelling expeditions and we saw and learnt so much. Our walk on the reef was a real highlight. To top all this off Lynne is also a gourmet chef and every meal was an epicurian delight! Go for it, you won't regret it. A truly wonderful experience!

Fantastic week cruising the beautiful Whitsundays. Super convenient flying into Hamilton Island - but spending most nights in gorgeous isolated anchorages. Food was a great highlight with Lynne conjuring up spectacular meals from the small galley. Snorkeling was great with fantastic fish viewing.

We had the most fabulous time with Lynne & John, it truly is luxury expedition cruising. The locations and the snorkelling was some of the best in the world, not to mention the gourmet food and wine and of course, the company. We would thoroughly recommend Luxury Whitsunday Sailing to anybody who has an interest in the area and also enjoys superb service and a comfortable cabin.

Spent 6 nights aboard the Sydney Sundancer John and Lynn were wonderful hosts. Taking my Aussie friend and I to islands to have great walkabouts, to their favourite snorkeling bays and even out to the outer reef. Saw wonderful sights and I will never forget. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the beautiful Whitsundays

John and Lynn are very pleasant for the customers, they were at the same time very professional ,sensitive and responsive to our wishes. In our case the weather was very windy, but as we wanted to have good snorkels, they manage to find the right spots at the good time to see a maximum of corals and turtles and fishes, same for the nights when they always found very quiet overnight places . They adapted constantly the program to what we liked and what could be possible considering wheather conditions. About the food, it was a great experience Lynn is a very good cook (mix of classical and fusion cooking), she prepared very original and delicious meals with a lot of fresh products , herbs and spices, and have a good cellar; each meal was always unexpected and a good surprise. The boat is very comfortable, as for us we had a great wooden marine style cabin with a doubled bed and private shower and bathroom, and we had our meals either on the deck or inside in the dinner room. About the facilities, the tender (designed by John) is very well adapted for snorkeling(easy access) and very convenient to explore the island, and Lynn who is a reef expert is a very good guide when snorkeling.Kayaks are also available, and the landscape is really gorgeous. So we loved really that week with John and Lynn, and would have easily prolongate.

I would like to thoroughly recommend this experience. My husband and I booked a cabin for a 6 day cruise. The whole experience absolutely exceeded our expectations. With hosts Lynne and John we could completely relax. Lynne’s certification as a Master Reef Guide is well justified. She exudes knowledge, great respect and love for the reef in bucketloads. She guided us to secret places where we were left in awe of the beauty around us. The reforestation of the reef is evident everywhere. Notable is the time we were surrounded by a hundred or so turtles. John steered Sydney Sundancer always into safe waters and sails like an old hand sailor should. He is always quick for a joke but ever present with the safety factor. Meeting new friend on board was a bonus. We were all pampered to the max with Lynne’s gourmet cooking. It was a real holiday combining the best of relaxation and intrigue. We were lucky to get out to Bait Reef to visit the outer reef as well. 100% recommendation for a Whitsundays Holiday stay you will treasure forever.

We enjoyed a wonderful 6-night sailing trip from the Whitsunday Islands with Captain John and Lynne. (Departing from Hamilton Island.) We chose this trip because of the 30 years of sailing experience of this lovely couple. Their knowledge of the reef is unmatched. Lynne is a certified Master Reef Guide (MRG), one of the few in Australia. She is also a gourmet chef. The trip was exhilarating and relaxing at the same time. We snorkeled 2x a day, seeing the most beautiful corals I have ever seen in addition to beautiful tropical fish and turtles. Although we did not see any sharks, our shipmates did see 2 on our trip. We ate delicious lunches and dinners. We saw the sunset and sunrise over the ocean. And we enjoyed the exclusivity of being with only one other couple on this beautiful 60-foot yacht. John and Lynne are delightful people. They work hard to make sure that all of your wants and needs are completely satisfied on your sail. If seeing the Great Barrier Reef is a priority on your Australian Trip, I highly recommend booking with Lynne and John. Cheers!

My wife Amanda and I joined another couple Mike and Kim whom we had never met before all of us from Sydney and we all had the most fantastic holiday with John and Lynne Boyce from the sailing vessel Sydney Sundancer to experience a Great Barrier Reef Expedition Cruise cabin booking for 7 days and 6 nights . The vessel was spacious and there were plenty of spots to retreat should you wish to have your own space and the undercover areas allowed you to enjoy the magnificent views out of the sun while sailing along or while at anchor. Sydney Sundancer has the permits to moor on the outer reef area where John and Lynn's 30 years plus knowledge and experience meant that they were able to take us to the best locations for snorkeling and diving well away from the regular tour operators .Mooring overnight to watch the magnificent sunsets and sunrises was an absolute blast and the resident giant travaley ,groper and turtles that you could observe and feed on the back of the vessel's marlin board within hands reach was a once in a life time experience. We went reef walking on Langford Reef as the vessel has the only reef walking permit in the Whitsundays and given Lynne is a Master Reef Guide, one of only 46 in the 2300kms Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, her level of knowledge of the corals, shells ,turtles and other wildlife was akin to being on a Sir David Attenborough set. The food was varied and amazing with Lynne , the author of a cook book called Gourmet Sailing .....Delicious Dining On The Great Barrier Reef, dishing out many healthy ,nutritious, delicious hard to forget delights and we had great difficulty saying no to seconds which I have to admit did not help my waste line or any of the other guests but hey we are on holidays. The wine list was varied and interesting which enabled us to try a different wine for lunch and dinner each day with the quality at a high standard and the prices reasonable. All in all the week went way too fast, joining strangers on the vessel and leaving as friends, but we were all glad to have gone cruising with professionals in the Whitsundays to ensure we had the best Great Barrier Reef experience possible. I have no hesitation in recommending John and Lynne Boyce from Sydney Sundancer and wish to thank them for an unforgettable Whitsunday Great Barrier Reef holiday. Cheers Dom Coleman

Thanks too to Albert the friendly Maori Wrasse. Reef education was excellent and the cuisine 5 star. Sailing was most enjoyable and relaxing thanks to the experience of Lynne and John. Thank you for a superb holiday.
