Once you've made your selection, place your chopsticks on the stand and use a hand plane to carefully carve them into shape. It's a calming, satisfying process that lets you feel the texture and warmth of the wood. After carving, smooth the surface and edges with sandpaper to bring out the natural beauty and comfort of your chopsticks. Finally, apply a coat of natural oil to protect and enhance the finish, giving them a soft, polished look. As an optional touch, you can have your name engraved in Japanese or your native language, making your chopsticks truly one-of-a-kind.
