The City Sightseeing Trolley tour was well organized and fun. The lady in the cottage was adorable, and kind. The driver was exactly what you need for a driver: safe and competent. Steve, our guide and entertainer, was chock-full of information about Sarasota...and himself. :-) He leaned a bit too much into self-promotion, but did make jokes about himself to lighten the delivery.

My sister and I had fun on the trolley tour. We learned much about Sarasota past and present. Steve, our tour guide, was entertaining and engaging. The hour and a half flew by. The trolley is heated, which we appreciated on a cool Florida day. We recommend this tour and tour guide. After the tour, we had a map that we used to visit the sites we learned about on our tour.

My husband and I took a Sarasota city tour and absolutely loved every minute of it. We learned a great deal about the city’s history, culture, and local highlights, which gave us a much deeper appreciation for Sarasota. Our guide, Steve, was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, sharing fascinating facts and stories in a way that kept the tour engaging and fun from start to finish. He truly brought the city to life. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Sarasota and a wonderful way to get to know the area. We would highly recommend it to friends and family!

The "Jon and John" tour of Sarasota was the best tour I have ever been on. Let me start by stating that I am not a "tour person", and normally, a tour would be one of the last activities I would choose to do given how I have felt during previous tours in my life. But I am so happy I went on this one. The first thing worth mentioning about this tour is that there is both a guide AND a driver (Jon and John). This is something that more tours should adopt, as that allowed the dedicated guide to keep the tourists completely engaged, and the driver was able to maintain complete focus on driving (which I certainly appreciated, as someone who normally suffers from motion sickness). While I do not currently live there, I was born in Sarasota and have visited many times in the past. I state this because there was so much about this city that I did not know that I learned on this tour. One fun fact is that Golf in America started in Sarasota! I'll leave the other facts as surprises to learn on the tour yourself. Jon was the ideal tour guide: engaging, funny, well-spoken, informative, and most importantly, personable. He answered questions from the audience and asked questions of us as well, told jokes, and timed all of his information very well with the trip around the city. Another thing about this tour that impressed me was how in synch Jon and John were during this tour, as the transition between sites of interest and the information about these places was seamless, with no awkward "next slide" moments. In all likelihood, I do not believe I will ever go on a better run tour than this one. I cannot recommend highly enough going on this tour during your own trip to Sarasota.

I just returned from a Saturday morning tour with John as tour guide (and historian!) and Dan as chauffeur. It was excellent! John provided a comprehensive history of Sarasota going back to the first European settler, William Whitaker, in the early 1850s and the 1880s sojourners from Scotland (victims of a real estate deal gone bad) to John Gillespie, a visionary Scot, who, among other incredible accomplishments, established the 'first registered golf course' in North America! Fascinating. John pointed out many notable landmarks, their history, and provided recommendations on theaters, live events, restaurants, and other must see places. I highly recommend this tour for a beneficial 'crash course' on Sarasota. Bravo!

Staff was friendly and helpful at the office - the shop was filled with fun, interesting, kitschy items of a wide variety. Water and bathroom facilities were provided prior to getting on the bus. The tour guide was knowledgable and entertaining and we learned a ton about Sarasota history and traveled through many sections of town. It was. terrific tour.
