What To Expect

Darwin Harbour Cruises

Your cruise will depart from DOCK 3, located at the very end of Stokes Hill Wharf, city side. Crew members will meet you under the large blue umbrellas and will commence boarding 30-minutes prior to the cruise departure time. Generally you will leave Stokes Hill Wharf, travel along the Esplanade cruising along at 4 knots past the Larrakeyah Naval barracks, Cullen Bay and Fannie Bay. Your experienced skipper reserve the right to change the route subject to tidal conditions, guest’s safety and comfort. Tidal conditions determine how close to the coast the 'Charles Darwin' can operate. Hear knowledgeable commentary from the crew on Darwin History, Cyclone Tracey and the bombing of Darwin. In the past there have been sightings of crocodiles, dolphins, turtles and dugongs, however there is no guarantee you will see wildlife on your cruise. You will experience a Sunset on Darwin Harbour followed by Darwin’s skyline lit up at night.

This was a great way to enjoy the sunset in Darwin. Wonderful buffet service with lots of different choices to choose from. The staff were exceptional with their service. The views across the bay as the sun set were amazing. The cruise was smooth and even had a cruise liner pass by as it left the harbour while we headed back to the mooring. Great views of Darwin as we returned.

We really enjoyed our cruise- the buffet is delicious and we were pleasantly surprised to find there were lots of options for those with food intolerances. The staff were well trained, attentive and friendly.

Lovely staff, everything ran right to time, brilliant food selection in the buffet (including crocodile and kangaroo), we also enjoyed that the three of us could sit down at our own table from the outset - made it a really special family experience - very relaxed and professional.

What a delightful evening! Buffet was excellent and all you could eat and the crew were superb, especially when an older gentleman proposed on the front deck. That and the timing of the sunset over the harbour made the evening so special. Thank you to all the crew.

We were in Darwin for our Anniversary- this was one of the high points of our visit. The seating allows good interaction between tables. The upper deck is fabulous. The staff were brilliant. For a vegetarian the buffet lacked choices but this was not too problematic. All in all fabulous!
