  This was a great and reasonably affordable way to see some of the rest of Catalina that we couldn't get to on foot. Some folks rented the golf cart to drive up the windy path, but we preferred the tram with narration, especially after seeing how narrow the road gets at times.

  On Dec, 27 we booked the Cataline Island City & Scenic Mt. Ada Tour at 4:30 PM because is was my 70th birthday at the pier directly with an agent who promised we would see the sunset. Well, a computer glitch occur and the tour was over book - not enough seats on the vehicle. Why? Because some of my group's tickets were for the 28th not the 27th. By the time all was resolved the sun had set. Sent a letter which was returned twice - guess they don't want to hear from customers. I wrote requesting that in the future, so this can be avoided with other customers, the agent at the booth review each ticket to ensure that everyone in the group is schedule for the same day and time and that customers buying the tickets are asked to review them before leaving the counter. (since I don't think the computer glitch will be corrected).

  Lindsey was an amazing tour guide! She knows a lot about geology and taught us about the conservation efforts here on the island. I highly recommend her tour. The scenery is outstanding. We saw the small native foxes too.

  Great history of city and good way to have each site pointed out. Tour guide was awesome and entertaining. More photo opps were needed especially in the mountains, although I’ve know idea where they could even stop for a great overview. Enjoyed being limited on number of participants. Ensured e eryone got to see.

  The people at the counter can use some classes on customer service. We were on a cruise and had to be tendered to land and they were short staffed . I called and told the lady what was happening and told her we were on the tender and ready to leave. It’s only about a 10 minute trip from the ship to Catalina Island. We ran over to the booth and the lady said they left 10 minutes ago. Well 10 minutes would have been BEFORE the time the bus was supposed to leave. She was rude and sounded annoyed with us. We missed the excursion due to NO fault of our own. We asked if there was anything we could do and she said the best we could do was allow us to use the tickets for a year. We were on vacation and don’t live anywhere close to Catalina Island.

  It was a nice experience to explore most of the island, learn a bit about its history, and to have a nice view from the top of Mt. Ada.

  Our tour was on 11/12/25 and it great! David was our driver and Shane our tour guide. Very interesting tidbits and beautiful sights shared…fun gossip too!🤣 If you’re looking for a wonderful tour…this is it!
