A lovely, comprehensive but comfortably-paced walking and bus tour of Beppu’s incredible natural hot springs, complete with history, cultural context, and interaction with the natural areas and local people. Great sampling of local food and drinks, relaxing foot soaking in the hot spring waters, walkthroughs of the baths/steam culture surrounding the springs, and of course a peaceful and engaging exploration of the varied and majestic springs! Our guide, Sana San, was absolutely incredible. Her knowledge of the region, the geological phenomena, and local customs enriched our understanding of the already very cool sights and gorgeous, winding mountain springs. Her warmth, friendliness and endless supply of plucky enthusiasm made her guidance around the area of me of the most pleasant tours we’ve ever had the fortune to experience. Her English was excellent, and helped us - a group of limited Japanese comprehension - understand and feel welcome every step of the way. I can’t recommend this tour, and in particular Sana San, enough. Be prepared to walk for quite a while, but there are also plenty of well-timed breaks and moments for rest. Perfect for individuals, couples, and groups looking for an experience that shows the highlights of the area but also a surprising amount of impromptu and wonderful interaction with locals - including, in our case, a priest who treated us unexpectedly with a performance of the Beatles’ “All My Lovin’” on acoustic guitar! 11/10 would do again.

We had a great time seeing some of the highlights of Beppu. Our guide Milly was very friendly and knowledgeable, and really made it an enjoyable tour! Bus fare and entry to attractions was included so all we had to do was explore, take photos and eat snacks. Thanks Milly!

One must not missed! Is the best we have experience the mother nature. All were separated and have to walk from one point to another. Staff were awesome and friendly. Able to converse in English.

Absolutely amazing tour with Tomoko! From the moment we met her, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for Beppu truly shone through as she guided us through the town’s stunning hot springs, hidden gems, and local culture. Her English was fantastic, which made the experience seamless and engaging, and she shared so many fascinating facts that we never would’ve discovered on our own. Tomoko’s kind nature and deep understanding of the area made this tour an unforgettable highlight of our trip. Highly recommend booking with her—you’ll leave with a full heart and a deeper appreciation for beautiful Beppu! Thank you so very much for making our time in Beppu unforgettable, Tomoko!

Enjoyable trip. There were a lot of people and the park is quite small, with 3 or 4 thermal ponds. In April the blossom was lovely to see. Ticket price is reasonable.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our guide Tomoko who took us on a terrific tour of the Hot Springs & beautiful gardens in Beppu. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to see or get around the area so easily without her help. Tomoko is such a delightful person & we really enjoyed chatting to her. Some of the pool colours are amazingly different due to the mineral content. Steam vents are everywhere & you can choose to drink the water or steam your own food or have a foot bath. We returned to the Beppu train station by a local bus after a most enjoyable afternoon. We were particularly lucky that it did not rain!

We much enjoyed the “Beppu Half Day "HELL" Sightseeing Tour” with guide Wakamatsu Kimiko-san. We experienced not only some of Beppu’s hells and onsen’s but also learned about the city’s history geology, people and other charming places to visit during the remainder of our stay in Beppu.

I love the tour as a whole i never thought it will be a personal tour & i will never forget the taste of the rice with meat covered in leaf & also the egg cooked through onsen, so yummy. My guide is very good, still very active at her age & speaks good english. I highly recommend her. Beppu is a wonderful place blessed with onsen (hot spring) everywhere. You can find smoke everywhere that makes the place unique. I am satisfied with my visit to this place because of Kimiko my friendly & knowledgeable guide.
