What To Expect
Sannai-Maruyama Site
The Sannai-Maruyama ruins were found in a large-scale settlement in the Jomon period more than 5,000 years ago, found in an excavation survey in 1992, and many residences, tombs, earthenware, stoneware, and ornaments were excavated. The grounds are covered in nature, and you can enter a pit-type dwelling or visit various exhibits within the exhibition space. Experience the lives of those people who lived together with nature.
Aomori Museum of Art
The Aomori Museum of Art is an art museum characterized by its modern and unique architectural design adjacent to the Sannai Maruyama ruins. It’s also one of the prefecture’s newest landmarks dubbed “Aomori Dog" and contains works by local Aomori artists as well as many collections of artists from around the world. Here you will enjoy various pieces created within the rich nature and climate of Aomori.

5.00Our experience with Omakase Tours was top-notch. They were professional, efficient and friendly while we arranged the tour. Our guide, Mizuho, was incredibly enthusiastic and amiable. While it poured rain all day, Mizuho took us to various indoor activities, including a wonderful art gallery and the Nebuta Museum. This, combined with the archeological site, gave us a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the local culture. Mizu also accommodated our request for local ramen, which proved absolutely delightful. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to better appreciate Aomori's culture.

5.00What a fantastic tour! Shiho is an excellent guide and is fluent in English. She went out of her way to make sure that we got to see the cherry blossoms (we were to late in the season at our other ports), without missing out on any other parts of the tour. We truly enjoyed spending a memorable day with her.
