What To Expect
Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park
Ang Thong National Marine Park is a true natural wonder. An archipelago of 42 islands. With magnificent limestone cliffs emerging from the sea, tropical rainforest, rich wildlife, and beautiful beaches, the national park is among the most famous tourist destinations. You will visit Koh Maekoh and do some snorkeling, and swimming. The highlight of the island is "Talay Nai" or "Emerald Lake" an island where the limestone mountains encircled the emerald lake. See spectacular views from the viewpoint. You will have a buffet lunch on the island. Then you will visit Koh Wua Talap. Here you will hike up to the viewpoints on the mountain of Wua Talap Island. There are 6 viewpoints. Walking to the top viewpoint needs reasonable physical fitness and you will get rewarded by the stunningly beautiful panoramic views of the national park. Alternatively, you can enjoy kayaking along the coastline of the island.

1.00Notice: Disappointing experience - Rigid service and lack of user friendliness Note: 2/5 Despite the aesthetic beauty of the traditional boat, our private excursion for 5 people was a great disappointment. While basic logistical commitments were met (on time for hotel transfers), the human and tourist experience was not commensurate with a private service. The negatives: • Reception and attitude: An extremely cold captain and reluctant to communicate as soon as we arrived. • Lack of flexibility: We explicitly asked to avoid ultra-tourist areas to discover quieter corners. The captain refused to adapt the route, leading us exactly where all the other groups were. It felt like a "shuttle" rather than a private ride. • Lunch arrangements: At lunch we were dropped off in a port without any charm, unwelcoming and without shade. Instead of a picnic on a deserted beach (as we had experienced on other excursions, especially in the West Indies), we were handed a basin of rice and asked to eat further, in full sun, without the possibility of swimming. • Interest of the visit: Overall very low, without any explanation or sharing from the attendant. The positives: • Snorkeling: The timing of the dive was pleasant. • Fruit: The fresh fruit, carefully prepared by the captain, was excellent. Unfortunately, this was our only positive moment of the day. Conclusion: We do not recommend this agency if you are looking for customization and user-friendliness. A service that satisfies the bare minimum without any sense of hospitality

5.00Great day out. Activities were well planned and timed to perfection so no one area was overcrowded. Viewpoint walks were not for the feint hearted . Staff were very friendly and professional.. would definitely recommend in good weather!

5.00Lovely day exploring National park. Snorkeling on route with a reasonable amount of fish. The lake is stunning and lunch good. Our guide was brilliant taking great photos.

4.00In itself it was a totally nice trip, the guides were super nice and we were lucky with the weather. However, you should definitely bring shoes that are suitable for hiking - not just flip-flops. Two very steep ascents are included, too little is pointed out in advance. The snorkeling was nice in itself, but mind. 300 people on a few square meters, because unfortunately all boats sail to the same bay. Kayaking was short, strenuous on the open sea as expected. The return trip with speedboat also not for weak stomachs, 45 min impact of the boat on the waves (& these were conditions in top weather). Tip also - make excursion from Koh Panghan (if you are on both islands), because if you are traveling from Koh Samui, you have to stop in Koh Pangan. I.e. on return trip again on top 30min to Koh Samui with Speedboat. It was 100% worthwhile for the view & experience of nature, but is a tourist “adventure day” with many other companions.

5.00It was a great tour to the national park. Nature is just beautiful and overwhelming. Several islands were approached and land was taken on two islands. The food was typical Thai food and was very well prepared. The drive home to Koh Phangan was a bit stormy, but was mastered confidently by the boatmaster. There were difficulties on the part of Tripadvisor, as it was not possible to 'process' the booking made and it took hours to finally reach the destination via many detours.
The trip was fantastic.

5.00We got the tour recommended by someone we met on Koh Phangan and it was your most beautiful experience during the time on the island. Our two guides have contributed the most to this. They showed us the beautiful places with so much joy and humor, constantly offered to take photos of us and even gave us tips for poses. The spots were all beautiful and we had enough time to explore everything. The small canoe trip on the sea, the snorkeling and the sweet spectacle lagure were all highlights with the beautiful nature. There was also really good food in the form of a buffet. Also the group size was optimal, we met very nice people. The whole trip was so beautifully remembered. Great recommendation:)

4.00Great value full day out for around £50 per person plus approx £7 admission each to enter park (paid before getting on boat in cash). Good hotel pick up in decent minibus taxi. Modest light breakfast before getting on boat. Good quality free snorkels. Great views, beaches, kayaking. Very good lunch and free water all day. Just to manage expectation - No alcohol sold on boat or islands. This is a speed boat. Don’t expect to sunbathe. There are limited seats outside at front of boat. The only negative is you can’t hear a lot from the guide when he speaks especially at back of boat next to motors. This could and should be improved. Nice guides with one chap taking photos on his smart phone then he finds you when heading back to pier and sends them to you on Air drop. Nice touch. Thanks for a great day. The unconnected rangers on the islands need to do more work cleaning the litter on beaches which is a thankless task with tides but this is after all a national park. boat or on
