If you're a lover of hiking and nature, Alishan Mountain is the most precious gem where you should definitely not miss out in Taiwan!

Departing at High Speed Rail Taichung Station, Exit 4 (meeting point 7.) we will be heading to Chukka first. Next, we will arrive in Alishan, where you can explore the forest with those ancient trees that have lived on for more than a thousand year. Further more, immerse yourself in the phytoncidin while walking on the mysterious trails and relax from the daily stress. Last but not least, Alishan is rich of cultural heritage for indigenous tribes whose traditions and customs are still celebrated today.

Latecomers or No-Show will not be refunded, and changes made within 24 hours may not be accepted.

The experience requires minimum of 6 travelers. If there are less than six people, a cancellation notice may be issued.

According to Taiwan law, children under the age of 4 must use an infant car seat. Please let us know in advance if you need one, and we will prepare it for you. An additional charge of 300 NTD may apply for an infant seat.

Chukou Visitor Center

Chukou Visitor Center is a stop where you can rest your legs and stretch your body because it is a long drive from the start. However, soon we will be arriving at Alishan!

Alishan National Forest Recreation Area

Situated in the mountainous region of Chiayi County, Alishan is famous for its towering ancient trees, stunning landscapes, and the unique phenomenon known as the "sea of clouds." Visitors to Alishan can experience a serene environment filled with lush greenery, scenic walking trails, and refreshing mountain air. The most visited attractions in Alisha Area are Numaping Station, Sister Ponds, Magnolia Garden, Shenyi Waterfall, Shouzhen Temple, and more.

Thank you to Stella (Miss Chen Chen Hyun) for the professional and attentive care of our family at "Aly Mountain Day Tour", and both Mom and Dad (over 75 years old) had a great time. The trip was rich and smooth throughout the day, and we appreciated many beautiful views. Take motion sickness pill for mountain road if you are sensitive. Weather is much cooler on the top ~2200m - and definitely if it is cloudy. Be ready to sit in the bus ab 4 hrs on one direction.

An immersive experience of a magnificent mountain forest. Well planned in that the walking was all downhill! We didn’t realise we couldn’t use a stroller, so this was an ambitious tour to do with a toddler (15 months). A backpack would have been better than carrying and walking with her. Our guide Cook was patient and good humoured and did his best to make our experience enjoyable and memorable.

I love every aspect of the trip. From pre-trip information, transportation and explanation till the end everything was excellent. Enough time was provided for sightseeing and shopping. Guide Alicia was knowledgeable, cheerful and professional. I highly recommend this tour. Although the hike was easy, quite some long staircases were involved and it was not wheelchair accessible.

Great value and comfort if you want to visit Alishan in one day from Taichung without caring about the maze of public transport. Our guide knew perfectly the story of the main trees of the forest which helped us to understand better what Alishan is, and not just having a hike in the woods. Recommended hiking shoes, possibly waterproof since it rains most of the times, and a light jacket, even if humid we were at 16°C in August

I went on a join-in tour by myself, I was a bit worried about being awkward at first. Later I made friends with other travelers during the tour, so it turned out to be an unforgettable trip. The weather wasn't too good that day but apparently it's usually foggy at Alishan. I guess that's why it's a bit mysterious there.
