Experience the Grand Canyon from a biblical creation perspective with Canyon Ministries.
The Sunset Rim Tour begins inside the park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flagpole, meeting around four hours before sunset. From there, you’ll journey along the South Rim’s east side on Desert View Drive, traveling in comfort to some of the most breathtaking overlooks and vistas.
At each stop, step out to take in stunning views, explore the surroundings, and engage in meaningful teaching. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the canyon’s geology, wildlife, and history, all framed by the biblical account of Creation and the Flood as described in Genesis.
At the end of the tour, we will close out the day with the One who made it as the sun sets far to the west over the rim.
Total tour length is variable, depending on when the sun sets that day. Plan to be back around 30 minutes after the sunset.

What To Expect
Grand Canyon South Rim
Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim
Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.

5.00We loved it! The sunset tour was in a 10-ish passenger van that made several stops, so it was ideal for family members who weren't able to manage a hiking tour. We enjoyed the views, learned a lot, and loved our guide - he was knowledgeable and fun, and we enjoyed hearing about some of his experiences studying science & Creation. We could enjoy the same tour many more times, and/or would love to experience some of the others. The winter wind was chilly but the frequent breaks in the van kept everyone comfortable.

5.00The sunset tour was the perfect way for my wife and I to experience the Grand Canyon on an anniversary trip. Our guide, David, was knowledgeable and thorough. We enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the other members of our tour. It was a true highlight of the trip. I’m grateful for Canyon Ministries and so thankful we booked this experience to get a Biblical, God-centered tour that enhanced our visit to the Grand Canyon and encouraged our faith.

5.00This experience is not about the Canyon, it’s about a loving Father that created the canyon for us to enjoy and how God did it! Eddy is a true Believer in Gods son Jesus Christ. We are commanded in Matt 28:18 to GO into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what Eddy did. The tour was Amazing n insightful. 5.00We really appreciate having a tour available that explains the Grand Canyon through the lens of scripture! Our guide Emelia is very knowledgeable about the history of the Grand Canyon and science, and how they support the Biblical account of creation. It is a "must do" in any visit to the Grand Canyon in order to understand the big picture and the heart of our Creator!

5.00Our family of 8 loved the tour with Bob! He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and loves God and His Word. What an amazing experience! We have been on wonderful creation tours to Mt. St. Helens, so to be honest, I expected not to learn much new with this one, but happily I was wrong! Several of our children said it was their favorite part of our week, and another one said she's going to recommend it to others. Our family will remember and discuss this memory-maker for a long time. We say do the tour, learn the truth, then share it with others!
