Our driver, Ali, was excellent and gave us good tips as to what to see. Unfortunately the weather was not great and slightly dampened what was still an interesting and enjoyable day.

The experience was truly excellent. Our driver, Ali, was extremely punctual, kind, and helpful. He explained in detail what to see and carefully instructed us on the main points of interest to visit. It's an experience I recommend to anyone who has little time and wants to tour these fantastic sites.

We had a great time visiting the three sites on this private tour. I was looking for a compact tour from Kanzawa to try to pack in a day a few things and this was perfect. The guide was informative but not pushy and let us do our thing when we wanted to. They were also accommodating with the start and end times to meet our further travels.

We wanted a personal driver to take us on a day trip from Kanazawa. We are retired friends and were traveling as a group of four. The car was comfortable and air conditioned. Bottled water was a nice touch. Moiz, our driver was communicative, prompt, kind and courteous. He guided us through Shirakawago and dropped us off to explore other points of interest listed on the itinerary. He picked us up promptly at agreed upon pickup points. Tip: Having access to texting is necessary. We never felt rushed. We appreciated that, Moiz.

Malik was a nice guy and friendly. He was in time. What we didn’t like is that from time to time he was driving too fast and he was on the phone with his manager, okay no problem, but we didn’t like that he didn’t call handsfree ;-(. Halfway they had to switch the tour guide, because of an emergency case. Okay this is force majeur. The new guy did not introduce himself and I had to ask his name. We noticed he was not really in the mood to do the tour. After we went to the open air museum, he was asking us what was next spot to go to and what the name of the temple was. He didn’t know the way and was driving with his mobile in his hand and checking the mobile for navigation. We didn’t like it at all. The manager should be more strict and forbid them to drive like this. After this it was on the program to go to the “Jinya house”, but he said he was going to the B&B to drop us there. It was 3.25 p.m. So the program stopped way too early. The driver looked tired and was not really interested. We skipped the last part ourselves (to see the streets of the old part of Takayama, because our B&B was located there).

This was the first time I took a tour and never made it to the destination (shirikawa-go). We had rearranged the trip because the vendor had a conflict. We were pressured to accept the new date on a short timeline. We did so and then day of we never made it to shirikawa-go because we were behind on timing. With that said, we never were warned of that being a consequence and the entire experience was lackluster.

Moiz was a very good tour guide. It was nice being able to set our own pace at the different stops. I would recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day tour to Shirakawa-go and Takayama. Our guide Moiz was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The itinerary is well structured to make the most of visiting this lovely village and town. Well worth the day trip from Kanazawa. Can highly recommend.

This private charter to Shirakawa-go and Takayama was incredible. No stress about trains or buses — just a seamless, beautiful day through the countryside. Abdul was an amazing guide. Super knowledgeable about the history and culture, great recommendations for food and photo spots, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. He brought the thatched-roof villages of Shirakawa-go to life and knew all the best streets in Takayama’s old town. Book this tour and hope you get Abdul. Highly recommend.
